It’s not really, everybody can get acne no matter of age he or she is.

Acne usually does begin at puberty, when at that time someone’s body starts to produce hormones named androgens. But, you also should know beside hormone, acne can be caused by stress, blocked skin pores, and skin oils as well. Some people believe that foods such as chocolate, pizza, and greasy fries can cause acne. It’s not true. Foods can’t cause acne.

Indirectly, makeup also can cause acne. Using makeup that oil-based can lead to excess oil on the face and can lead to acne on eventually. If you have oily skin, I encourage you to choose powder-based products, or products that especially intended for oily skin, such as containing acne medication. These will work to remove the excessive oil and treat your pores concurrently.

However, acne can be treated by vitamin, antibiotics, laser treatment, or liquid products that exterminate bacteria provisionally. It’s important for you to see a dermatologist for the help before trying to treat the problems, considering that although we know about four common skin types, but each person has different skin qualities and problems. So, you can get the best treatment with certain prescriptions in accord with your skin quality.

So basically, acne is not about foods, it’s about our body’s condition, not just for teens but for all ages. The soap that used with hot water will work easier to remove the oil and dirt from your face and accelerate the whole process and may direct to dry skin and flaking. Scrub your face gently should be sufficient to get rid of your oily skin problem without causing a dry skin problem in the process. Avoid scrubbing it too hard, as this can irritate the skin.

2. Use Mild Soap
One washing per day with a mild soap should be adequate to get rid of the excessive oils while leaving enough behind to keep moisture and protect skin. Keep away from any soap that contain alcohol or harsh soaps to strip away oil. Your glands will instinctively replenish lost oil and will increase their oil production. This could create more health problems than existed with the oily skin. Try to get soap with all-natural ingredients such as olive, almond, or even avocado oil. All have deep-penetrating qualities that will refill the skin and help retain moisture.

3. Moisturizer and Sunscreen
Choose non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic products instead, that are less likely to block your pores. You also can use an oil-free sunscreen with a minimum SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 15 when exposed to the sun. But, keep away from creamy moisturizers and sunscreens. Make sure they are oil free.

4. Oil-Free Makeup and Facial Product
Choose powder-based products, or products particularly intended for oily skin, such as containing acne medication. These will work to remove the excessive oil and treat your pores simultaneously. But before applying makeup, use an antiseptic day cream with active ingredients that reduce sebaceous secretions. Don't use a lot of liquid-based foundation, eye-shadow, blush, or concealer. In addition, if you want to sleep while there is still makeup on your skin, don’t forget to remove it. Another reason why pores are blocked is the interaction of oil on the skin and chemicals in makeup.

5. Avoid Stress
There is certainly a correlation between oily skin and stress. Androgens generate a lot more oil when you are stressed, busy, or anxious which unavoidably leads to oily skin. So always take the time to relax.

6. Natural Remedy
A combination of cucumber juice with limejuice is an excellent remedy that should be applied on your skin half an hour before having a bath. You also may add a few drops of eau de cologne to the combination. This combination prevents development of acne and gets rid of excess oil from the skin.

How to Know Your Skin Type Exactly

Basically, there are four common skin types: oily, dry, combination, and normal. The way your skin reacts and behaves classifies the type of skin you have. Skin types react in different ways to creams and/or lotions, environment, and weather. The skin on your face is the great point to categorize type of your skin.

Here are four skin types that you should know:

1. Oily Skin
Skin may look oily, sallow, and coarse; it has large pores and tends to have pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. The texture of skin is thick; the touch is often sticky. It is usually youthful-looking due to the presence of oil on the skin. Besides that, within hours of cleansing the oiliness will reappear and makeup is usually absorbed quickly. Often, individuals with this skin type have a propensity to develop acne in their teen and middle years.

2. Dry Skin
This skin type has a transparent looking and fine texture. It may lack natural oils, may look rather flaky with small pores, blackheads and blemishes. It feels particularly dry after cleansing and may have whiteheads around the eyes and dry patches. Without sufficient moisture, this skin type can simply become chapped. It’s more likely to become wrinkly than other types.

3. Combination Skin
This type can be characterized as oily on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and the rest of the face, cheeks and around the eye, is dry. However, to restore both areas to balance, they need a separate cleansing routine.

4. Normal Skin
If this is your skin type you are very lucky, because less than 20% of women have this skin type. It is the "healthy" type of skin. It’s smooth, soft, and supple; not too dry, not too oily, characterized by few blemishes, and has a nice glow. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that you don’t have to take care of it.

The first step just before choosing a skin care routine that will make you look beauty is knowing you skin type. Therefore, I want to give you simple tips how to know what type of skin you have exactly:

Cleanse your face, and wait for an hour, without applying any skin care product to it.

After that, take a tissue and wipe each of the following areas of your face: your forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks.

If oil appears on the tissue, then you have oily skin. But, if skin particles can be seen on your skin, or remain on the tissue, then you have dry skin. Other than that, If you see oil in some areas (T-zone: forehead, nose and chin), and none in others, then naturally you have combination skin. And, if you don’t find oily residue or flake is left on the skin, you have normal skin.

One thing that you should keep in mind, cleansing and moisturizing twice a day is an important thing of having attractive and healthy skin, regardless of what type of skin you have. For maximum results, select products that are intended for your particular skin type.

Acne Care – You Must Know the Basic

Acne has become one of the many skin problems that people face, not only teenagers, but adults as well. Such as, it acts as an organ of feelings, controls body temperature, and protects the whole body from microorganisms and dust.

But, how many of us really realize that to do those activities, our skin needs sufficient vitamins?

Vitamins are very important for your skin. The great recommendation to make sure your skin keep healthy is to follow a well-balanced diet, which commonly contains the essential vitamins like A, B, C, and E.

Vitamin A
We often hear that vitamin A is important for our eyes and vision. In fact, it’s not only that.
Vitamin A, known as retinol, it plays important role in development and maintenance of healthy skin. It carries out as an antioxidant to neutralize harmful elements in our skin, helping to prevent wrinkles, resist infection and keep our skin youthful.

But remember, too much vitamin A can be toxic, and it can lead your body to health problems. According to Ohio University website, the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A is 900 RAE (Retinol Activity Equivalents) per day for men and 700 RAE per day for women. Vitamin A is also considered a fat-soluble vitamin which means it is easily stored in your body’s fat cells and liver until used.

Vitamin A sources: egg, milk, butter, fish oils, orange, sweet potato, mango, papaya, broccoli, carrot, tomato, spinach, kale, another yellow and green vegetables and fruits.

Vitamin B
Vitamin B which is very important for healthy skin is B3 (niacin) and B6 (pyridoxine). Vitamin B3 acts by improving circulation and helping your body with the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. While, vitamin B6 is essential in the functioning of your immune system and your antibody production. These both vitamins are related to acne. If you got acne, it’s very likely that your body has these vitamin deficiencies.

Vitamin B sources: whole cereals, wheat germ, brown rice, oilseeds, pulses, nuts, liver, asparagus, broccoli, potato, banana, fish, dark green leafy vegetables and milk, etc.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the most potent antioxidant vitamins. It can benefit skin in two vital ways. The first, vitamin C is vital for the synthesis of collagen, a key structural protein of the skin. Adding vitamin C to a culture of skin cells (fibroblasts) significantly increases the synthesis of collagen. And the second, vitamin C is an antioxidant and can assist to reduce skin damage caused by free radicals. So, when vitamin C is properly delivered into skin cells, there is a good chance to improve skin texture and reduce wrinkles. But remember, too much vitamin C can lead to sensitive, irritable stomach and mouth ulcers.

Vitamin C sources: fresh vegetables and fruits.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is another body’s main antioxidants. Vitamin E acts more than protect your skin cells from the sun, drugs, pollution, and other element that lead to cell damaging free radicals, but it also helps your skin keep soft and smooth and plays an important role in the anti aging.

Vitamin E sources: avocado, tomato, sweet potato, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, blackberry, mango, egg, vegetable oil, corn oil, olive oil, nuts, wholemeal products, etc.

However, there is still a problem that we should pay attention to. Not a few of us are accustomed to use skin care products that contain chemicals because of cheaper. You should be careful, those chemicals will be absorbed into the bloodstream. We may think that the amount is small? It is, one thing you should know that it will lead to the cumulative effect of chemicals that is very likely damages your healthy skin.

Could This Be The Best Anti Wrinkle Cream?

If you're a wrinkle sufferer, there is a good chance that you've tried wrinkle remover cream before and have been let down. You may have even given up on the idea of using wrinkle cream altogether because of that bad experience or two. If that is indeed the case, it may be time for you to reconsider the use of wrinkle removing cream. Why? Simply because there is a wrinkle cream you didn't give a try, which is iced anti wrinkle cream.

Believe it or not, iced anti-wrinkle cream is considered, by many, to be the best anti wrinkle cream on the market. Is it the best for you? Maybe, maybe not -- but either way, the possibility of it working is not something you should easily ignore.

Why is this type of wrinkle-free cream any different than other types of anti-wrinkle cream? Basically, because of the way it works. Most other wrinkle creams work by increasing collagen in the body, a natural chemical that keeps the skin elastic and resilient. However, iced anti wrinkle cream takes an entirely different approach. Rather than increasing collagen, this cream freezes the skin and cuts off the areas nerve signals. This may sound somewhat strange, but you'd be surprised at how effective the results can be.

This brief cut-off of nerve signals -- which is only possible because of the cream's most potent ingredient, gamma amino-butyric acid (GABA) -- makes it so that it is impossible for wrinkles to maintain their form. As a matter of fact, the wrinkles will become completely relaxed and your skin will begin to quickly smooth out. How quickly? Well, it only takes about 10-20 minutes after the cream has been applied for you to noticing results! You heard correctly -- just a mere 10 to 20 minutes before the wrinkles on your face start to fade away.

Unfortunately, and as you likely guessed, there is a small catch with this type of wrinkle relaxing cream; which is the fact that iced anti wrinkle cream is not typically designed for long term results. That's not to say you'll have to stop using it at a certain point -- it's just that you won't achieve long lasting wrinkle removal with this cream alone.

In actuality, the cream will only last a little over 24 hours per application, at which time the wrinkles will start to gradually reappear. Does this lessen the cream's appeal? To some, possibly; but not enough for them to turn their backs on it completely. After all, turning your back on something so powerful because of one minuscule downside is, in a word, foolish.

How will you know if this particular type of cream is the best anti wrinkle cream for you? Simple, by determining whether or not it provides results for your ever-growing wrinkle problem. If it works better than other wrinkle creams you've used in the past, then it certainly is in the runnings for the title of "best", wouldn't you agree? If it doesn't work for you, well, you'll merely have to keep your eyes out for new wrinkle cream developments

By Shawn Saunders

Anti-Aging Creams - Helpful Ingredients For Daily Use

There are seemingly an infinite number of anti-aging creams available in the aisles of your local department store or pharmacy. However you may be asking yourself - "what's really in these cream that help me to reduce the wrinkles on my face?"

It's a compelling question and especially important if you have to think about potential allergies or even basic home budgeting. For example, you may find one product that costs $50 more, but has almost identical ingredients as the cheaper alternative.

Turning back the hands of the clock a bit and reducing the visible effects of aging is certainly a desirable goal, but caution in the selection of products must always be the by-word. Simply because a cream shouts "anti-aging" doesn't mean it is so.

To learn more about common ingredients in most daily use anti-aging creams and to help you locate products that are actually effective, keep reading.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid

Alpha Hydroxy Acid, also known as AHA, is a common component of anti-aging creams. There are actually a variety of these acids which are known as glycolic acids, lactic acids and citric acids.
The glycolic acids are made from sugar cane and are reportedly the best type of AHA. The lactic acid comes from milk and is perfect for sensitive skin, while the Citric acids are like astringents from apples, pears and grapes.

AHA is used in a variety of beauty care products and treatments including chemical peels. The use of AHA is safe when the recommended dosage is adhered to. However, it can cause slight burning, irritation and redness, but these are only temporary side effects, normally shown on people with sensitive skin.

Retinol

Retinol is associated with the retinoid chemical compound family and the animal form of Vitamin A. Vitamin A is crucial in the anti aging process because it helps the skin to create new cells, rejuvenating the collagen and providing a fuller, healthy set of skin.

Retinol can be found in a variety of skin care products such as in Pond's age defying cleansing towelettes, Neutrogena's age fighting moisturizers, Sally Hansen Age Correct and the RoC series.

Kinetin

Kinetin is the leading ingredient in many anti-aging creams. Kinetin has the ability to perform cell division and naturally resides in human skin cells. As long as cells divide, aging is slowed because the skin can reproduce new cells and at a more rapid pace.

However, when the cell loses its capability to split, wrinkles appear. With the use of kinetin delivered through anti-aging creams, cells are able to continue splitting. Kinetin can be found in the Kinerase anti aging products which have a variety of face and body lotions, eye creams and skin treatments.

The ingredients that reside in anti aging creams are numerous. AHA, Retinol and Kinetin are the three most popular and highly used ingredients in anti aging creams. So when you shop for creams that claim to smooth over or reduce skin wrinkles, first verify the ingredients before you purchase them. Your skin will thank you.

By Joe Patterson

Anti-Aging Skin Care And Tips For Dry, Itchy Skin

As a person ages it is normal to see the appearance of wrinkles and age spots. Elderly people can also develop skin disorders that can lead to serious medical problems. Older people need to give their skin more care than when they were younger. This is important because older skin is less oily, less elastic and thinner. It will bruise easier and take longer to heal when cut.

To protect against most kinds of skin cancer at any age use a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher. Also consider wearing long sleeves and a shady hat to give protection from the sun.

If you experience any of the following symptoms call a health care professional or go to the emergency room:

• Sudden, severe generalized itching, which can be a sign of liver or kidney disease, thyroid disorder or allergy

• Blisters or rash on forehead or temple with inflammation or pain in the eye. This could be indication of shingles involving the eye, which is an emergency that must be treated immediately.

Call a health care professional during office hours if you experience any of the following problems:

• Severe itching on underarms, abdomen, hands, wrists and groin, which can be a sign of scabies or mites and is easily treated. Sometimes scabies and mites can be picked up during a hospital stay

• If a mole grows in size, larger than one-quarter inch, are discolored (pearly blue, black or red and irregular shape) or if moles bleed

• A skin problem that starts or becomes worse just after starting a new medicine, increasing dose, or finishing the course of a medicine

• If a skin ulcer stays longer than two weeks without healing or grows in size

Dry and itchy skin may be more of a problem in winter when there is less humidity. Consider the following as suggestions to prevent or treat dry, itchy skin:

• After shower or bath, gently pat skin with a towel, but leave the skin moist. Apply a lotion, body oil or moisturizer that is high in petroleum such as AquaphorTM or EucerinTM. Avoid moisturizers with perfume or alcohol; these will dry and irritate the skin

• Use warm, not hot water for your bath or shower and keep them short. Do not scrub the skin roughly. Use a soft cloth or sponge. Use glycerin soap or moisturizing cream such as ToneTM or DoveTM and rinse off well.

• If you experience problem dry spots, try applying petroleum jelly to the troubled areas after bath or shower. If you use petroleum jelly be sure to wear pajamas and/or sock to protect bedding and clothing.

• Change bed sheets and clothing often. Wash clothes and sheets in detergents free of perfumes and fabric softeners that could irritate the skin. Be sure to rinse clothes and bedding thoroughly. An older person should wear cotton. Synthetics and other fabrics can be irritating to the skin.

• Drink plenty of water. Decrease us of caffeine and alcohol.

By Connie Limon

Coconut Oil and It's Health Benefits

Since coconut oil is their main dietary oil, and is also the main ingredient in their skin care products, it’s a good example for us to follow, while we reflect on the dietary plans of those staying in the Asia Pacific region. One can also take a closer look at how Virgin Coconut Oil provides skin health.

Coconut oil's ability to nourish and heal the skin has been known in the tropics for hundreds of years. Even when the anti-saturated fat campaign waged in the US convinced many even in coconut oil producing countries to switch to polyunsaturated oils, Filipinos and others never stopped using coconut oil on their skin because they knew about its wonderful moisturizing and healing powers for generations.

As a saturated fat consisting primarily of medium chain fatty acids (MCTs), it is not easily oxidized and does not cause harmful free radical damage like polyunsaturated vegetable oils.

Most commercial skin care products in various parts of the world today are made from polyunsaturated oils which oxidize and turn rancid very quickly causing free radical damage in the skin. There is good evidence that this is not only true for external applications, but also holds true for the oils one consumes.

One of the main reasons that we experience so many skin problems in the US today is a switch in our dietary oil. Our forefathers consumed primarily saturated fats, but most people today consume polyunsaturated fats and trans fatty acids.

The findings clearly indicate the strong impact that coconut oil application has to hair as compared to application of both sunflower and mineral oils. Among three oils, coconut oil was the only oil found to reduce the protein loss remarkably for both undamaged and damaged hair when used as a pre-wash and post-wash grooming product.

Both sunflower and mineral oils do not help at all in reducing the protein loss from hair. This difference in results could arise from the composition of each of these oils. Coconut oil, being a triglyceride of lauric acid (principal fatty acid), has a high affinity for hair proteins and, because of its low molecular weight and straight linear chain, is able to penetrate inside the hair shaft. Mineral oil, being a hydrocarbon, has no affinity for proteins and therefore is not able to penetrate and yield better results.

In the case of sunflower oil, although it is a triglyceride of linoleic acid, because of its bulky structure due to the presence of double bonds, it does not penetrate the fiber, consequently resulting in no favorable impact on protein loss.

Virgin Coconut Oil has been reported to help many skin problems as well. Depending on what is causing the skin problem, the coconut oil seems to work in a variety of ways. For example, we have had positive reports from people who suffer from yeast infections in the skin, and there is solid research that shows the MCTs in coconut oil do kill yeast infections.

Another amazing result many are reporting from Virgin Coconut Oil is using it directly under their arms as a deodorant! Many have theorized that the MCTs in the oil attack the bacteria in sweat that cause the odors.

By Prerna Salla

Papaya – A Natural Choice for a Facial Mask

Papaya is a natural for incorporating into your skin care regime. The fruit offers anti-oxidants and are rich in essential enzymes. Papaya has both preventative and restorative properties when used in skin care. Papaya’s powerful fruit enzymes are know to aid and accelerate healing in skin disorders such as acne. In addition, the fruit enzymes are a gently exfoliation to the skin.

The yellow fruit is usually available all year long, however is more easily found in the super markets between April and October. Papaya offers extensive benefits in skin care therapy. When applied to the face, it reduces wrinkles, nourishes the skin with Vitamin A which accelerates the formation of new skin cells, and exfoliates the skin. In addition, it is loaded with Vitamin C, which is an anti-oxidant. The beta-carotene in this fruit protects the skin and promotes elasticity.

Papaya is used is many skin care products today and provides a "natural" face lift and rejuvenation bring a wonderful and natural glow to the skin. It is commonly seen in toners, moisturizers, and facial peels. In addition, it is gently enough for all skin types.

An occasional facial peel is a great way to loosen dead skin cells, which improve the texture of the skin while restoring elasticity. In addition, peels reduce pore size, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and helps with blotchiness and stimulate collage production.

To effectively use this recipe, cleanse face and steam to open pores. The skin will be moist and receptive to the peel.

Papaya Peel

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh pineapple
Half-a-cup fresh papaya
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:
Puree fruit together. However, thanks to body hair and various methods of hair removal, silky skin is not easily achievable. Here are some tips on how to keep skin soft and smooth.

Unless you have a very hairy back, don't wax it. Surprisingly women who have barely discernible body hair on their back still want to wax it, with the result that their backs get getting rough when the hair starts growing back. Soon in-growths or a rash starts developing causing further roughness. If you wear clothes that reveal your back, consider bleaching your hair on the back instead of waxing it.

Massage oil on your body once a week if possible, or at least once a month. Try and organize a masseur to come in and give you a body massage. Over time your muscles will get more supple, circulation will improve, and your skin texture will smoothen. After getting a massage, don't take a shower for at least fifteen minutes to half an hour. Give your body time to absorb the oils. If you have access to a steam room, make sure you get some steam so the pores open and the oils get absorbed better.

Drink at least ten to twelve glasses of water a day. Your skin needs water to remain free from toxins. In addition, water heals and cleans all impurities from the inside out.

As far as possible, shower with cold water. Showering with hot water causes pores to open, with the result that your skin absorbs more of the chlorine in the water than it would if you were to shower with cold water. In addition, cold water increases circulation and cause blood to rush to the skin, infusing it with oxygen and minerals.

When taking a shower, after applying soap scrub your legs well with a pumice stone. This reduces in-growths. Scrub gently though you don't want to get bruised.

If you live in a warm, humid climate, in all likelihood you will perspire more. In addition, dust, pollution and dead skin also contribute to blocking pores. You need to exfoliate skin regularly in order to keep it healthy and supple. Invest in a loofah and scrub your body well while showering. While the pumice stone can be used on the legs, feet, arms and underarms, use the loofah all over the body, taking care to scrub your back well.

Soft Skin Mask

Here's a great mask to put on your skin for instant softness.

You will need:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil or vegetable glycerin
A healing substance like Vitamin C crystals or aloe vera gel
A few drops of essential oil like lavender (optional)

Mix these ingredients together until you have a paste, and apply it all over your body. Leave on for five minutes until the mixture tightens. Wash off with cool to lukewarm water. You will feel the difference in your skin texture almost immediately.

Don't try this just before an important even as it may leave a little redness on your skin depending on how sensitive it is.

By India Parenting

Beauty Tips And Facial Steaming

Exposing your skin to warm, moist steam from recently boiled water, be it from a pot in your kitchen, an electric facial sauna, a sauna at the Gym or by application of a hot compress (a flannel soaked in hot water, rinsed out and placed on the treatment area such as the back and shoulders) will help to deep cleans your skin. But then, one of the joys of womanhood is taking the time to pamper ourselves so we can face each new day looking and feeling our best.

Facial skin care and treatment
Our skin is our largest organ, performing several functions, including protecting us from invasion by foreign substances and serving as the transfer point for the release of toxins from our bodies.

Facials are deep skin treatments that cleanse, rehydrate and rejuvenate the skin, apart from minimizing skin blemishes, acne, dry skin and, of course, wrinkles. Facials vary depending on your skin type, the kind of treatment you've chosen, the products used and the person's age. However, it is advisable to start having facials in your late 20's.

Facial skin care and beauty products
The skin provides an honest mirror of our inner health and well-being. It is thus especially important to use only natural, gentle ingredients on our skin whenever possible. Application to the skin of fresh, natural products such as essential oils, plant waters (also called "hydrosols") and cold pressed unscented oils helps maintain a youthful, glowing complexion.

Essential oils and hydrosols are the fragrant liquids that are distilled from different plant parts, such as flower petals; herbs leaves and tree barks, and are fundamental components of any solid, natural skin care regime.

Cold pressed unscented oils are extracted from various fruits, nuts and seeds, and include olive oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil and jojoba oil. Used in tandem, essential oils, hydrosols and cold pressed unscented oils work together to soothe and nourish the skin, encouraging a healthful, radiant complexion.

Benefits of facials and facial massage
Facials involve a cleansing procedure, a massage and steam, and the application of a face mask. What they help to do is remove the dead, dull outer layer of cells that make up the skin's surface or epidermis along with pollutants. The massage, which is an important part of a facial, helps blood circulation, which in turn aids lymphatic drainage (the removal of toxins and waste from the body). A facial massage also relaxes the facial muscles and is very important to delay the onset of wrinkles.

The face is steamed during a facial for two main reasons. Firstly, steam helps the skin absorb cream better. Secondly, it helps in softening blackheads and whiteheads so that they can be removed easily. The application of a face mask in the end helps tone and clarifies the skin. Face masks are also used to treat dry and acne-ridden skin.

Different types of facials:
- A basic clean up
- Normal facials
- Special facials
- Bio-lift facials
- AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) facials
- Paraffin facials
- Anti-oxidant and pollution-fighting facials
- Acne Facials
- Collagen Facials
- Aromatherapy Facial
- Galvanic Facial
- Gold Facial

By Prerna Salla

A Review of Obagi Skin Care Products

Have you ever heard of the saying that goes, “Face your problems even if your problem is your face”? You don't get it deliberately and neither do you get rid of acne deliberately. It appears naturally and so does it disappear. The time it takes to leave you, depends upon how lucky you are and what remedial measures do you undertake. But one thing is for sure. You don't get rid of it that easily.

There might be no ways to get rid of acne in a week, but certainly there are ways to get rid of it sooner. But for that, you need to understand some technical, rather medical, terms.

Acne generally appears in teens when the body undergoes some strange physiological changes due to activity of certain hormones. The main function of these hormones is to bring about physical, psychological and sexual changes in the body, but excess of hormones may interfere with the other hormones and affect adversely.

One such effect is increase in sebum production by the sebum glands. Things remain fine while the sebum flows out normally through the openings on the skin. But problem arises when it is obstructed by anything. Then the accumulated sebum gives rise to acne.

You may think that I am just telling you the causes and ducking the remedies. Eat a balanced diet full of fiber and green vegetables. This will not only give you relief from constipation (Mind you! Constipation is a major tributary to acne) but will give you necessary vitamins and proteins which will keep your metabolism functioning properly and help regulate the hormones.

Avoid milk fats, vegetable fats and animal fats. Fats will tend to block the escapes further and make things worse. Also try avoiding meats. Meats contain toxins which may elongate the problem. Drink a lot of water. This will detoxify body by removing toxins and unwanted hormones from the body through urine and sweat and also reduce inflammation.

Finally and most importantly, do your exercises regularly. This will help a great deal to avoid acne. But those were not the ways to get rid of acne in a week.

About Author:
Dr Lillian. You should find a routine that suits you (and you need to stick to your skin care regimen as close as possible). We will see what makes for the best skin care tips and solutions . It's pretty simple, there are several steps to health glowing skin:

- Cleaning
- Toning up
- Exfoliating
- Moisturizing

If you desire to know where to start first, it's with cleansing. Cleansing prevents damage to the skin by removing dust, pollutants, grease and extra oil from your skin. Just apply a good cleansing lotion or cream to your face and neck and gently massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Use a soft face tissue or cotton wool to wipe your face in a gentle patting fashion (do not rub).

Realize that cleansing is not a once a day proposition, but must occur twice a day, i.e. morning (as part of complete facial skin care routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Remember to use a water soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your facial skin care routine.

Toning is the the optional part of the facial skin care routine. If you clean your skin well you can sometimes bypass toning. If you want to remove all traces of dirt, grease and excess cleanser then toning is for you. You can using toning occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to particularly harsh environment/pollution, Try the above suggestion instead of making it part of your daily facial skin care routine, .

Exfoliation is again, kind of, optional step in everyday routine for facial skin care. All the same, exfoliation is essential at least once a week (or twice, dependent on the skin type and the environmental circumstances). Exfoliation finds its target in facial skin care routine because of the natural disposition of skin to replenish the skin cells every 3 or 4 calendar weeks.

As a facial skin care proficiency, exfoliation aids in getting rid of the dead skin cells that block the pores, thus aiding the skin in the natural process. Still, inordinate or harsh exfoliation can induce damage to your skin; so you need to balance it out.

The following thing in facial skin care is moisturizing. As a matter of fact, moisturizing is the most crucial part of facial skin care routine. Moisturizers keep your skin from getting dry. Dry skin is really undesirable since it cause the upper layer skin to break, leading to dead skin cells.

Once again, use easy upward strokes to make the moisturizer more effectual. Moisturizers work the best when applied on warm and damp skin. Thusly do not try to take away all the moisture in the former steps of facial skin care routine.

As well as the conventional facial skin care routine, you ought also exercise the accompanying for facial skin care:

Utilize suitable make-up remover instead of just washing it away with a heavy gel.

Give ear to your skin type and the surroundings, when selecting facial skin care products.

Test a new facial skin care product, by applying it on a short patch of skin e.g. ear lobes.

Never rub your skin too hard, friction can be bad.

Employ sun blocker applications for protective cover against sunlight.

By Winfred Jennings

Treatments for Different Types of Acne

Acne treatments which are done to people are of different types and generally acne is categorized into three, types like mild, moderate and severe. It has to be treated by a professional dermatologist and only he can give an appropriate treatment. Acne can occur in arms, neck, back, the legs and in any part of the body. Skin care is very much essential for the Acne treatment and Doctors say that mostly all the acne are treatable.

In case of mild acne, the treatment is dealt with by gently washing the area with warm water and soap and after that applying a cream which includes benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which you get in majority of the pharmacies. This has to be done twice daily and this cream helps to kill the bacteria on the epidermis. The improvement will not occur immediately, but gradually there will be a steady improvement in your skin condition. To have a good appearance of the skin, doctors will prescribe certain vitamins and you cannot figure out any changes overnight.

Moderate acne occurs when more or less half of the face has been covered by pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and comedones. In order to handle this situation fast, you have to consult a dermatologist. Generally, moderate acne is treated by the use of combination therapies, which will be a blend of physical and prescription treatment. This can be further more precise by categorizing them into extraction or light therapy and antimicrobial or retinoid cream. You have to take care of your skin in the moderate stage itself, or else it will definitely become very serious, and so it is very essential to take care of acne as early as possible.

Severe acne is the one which will be very apparent that the individual is suffering from it. The area affected by acne will become deep, inflamed and cyst-like. In this stage a lot of scars and skin damage, causing feeling of sadness and depression will occur to the person. As this is a severe level, one individual must treat himself before he reaches this stage.

Mostly dermatologists’ treatment to this stage of acne will be aggressive, so that they can prevent the acne from spreading. Acne surgery is known as oral antibiotics and medications such as accutane and it may be used in this stage as well as drainage techniques and surgical incision. The cysts can be melted primarily within a few days of time by giving other acne treatments like injections of corticosteroids. Acne treatment or therapy which will be chosen by the dermatologist will be taking into consideration the severity of the skin being affected.

Get the exact information about the acne from the physician and patience is very much necessary as the treatment usually takes six to eight weeks to see the visible signs of improvement. Persistency is vital and it is also very much important that you consult a prescribed physician and follow up the instructions given by him. Acne care for adult and adolescent are different, as the hormones flow is different in both. So don't assume yourself that the method used to cure teenage acne problem can be used for adult problem also.

About Author:
Lesley Lyon. These are usually very effective however can sometimes take a bit longer than wanted - usually at least a week depending on the severity of the acne lesions. This approach is the easiest and least abrasive measure to take in fighting acne.

It is important to know your skin type. Sometimes really oily skin needs a gel based acne product and dry skin should use a cream. The best acne creams should contain Benzyl Peroxide and/or Salicylic Acid. Benzyl Peroxide destroys the bacteria which cause acne and Salicylic acid exfoliates the top layer of skin which can become decongested which then causes acne.

The most common acne cream treatment would be Oxy or Clearasil. Both brands are prescription strength products and come in cream and gel forms. These products should only be used as spot treatments because the skin can become very dry if the product is used on non -acne skin.

The most effective acne cream would be Retina A (which is NOT over the counter and a prescription is needed). Retina A is a form of retinoid (a substance close to vitamin A - which is required for human development). This acne treatment helps reduce the oil production in the skin and helps loosen blackheads. The downside to this treatment is that the skin can become extremely dry and flaky. It can also take up to a year to see the full benefits - clearer, smoother, acne-free skin.

About Author:
Dr Alexa Woods. Simply said, oily skin is a result of intensive production of sebum (an oily substance that is naturally produced by skin). As everyone knows, excess of everything is bad; so excessive sebum is bad too. It leads to clogging of skin pores, the result is accumulation of dead cells and hence formation of pimples/acne. Moreover, oily skin is spoiling your looks too. So, oily skin care is as important as the skin care for all types of skin.

The goal of oily skin care is the removal of excessive sebum or oil from your skin. But of course, oily skin care procedures should not lead to complete removal of oil. Oily skin care begins with the use of a cleanser. But, not all cleansers will do the job. You need a cleanser which contains salicylic acid i.e. a beta-hydroxy acid that slows down the rate of sebum production.I recommend the ClearPores Cleansing System. Cleansing should be done 2 times a day (and even more in hot and humid conditions).

Most of the oily skin care products are oil-free, but, it is always good to check the ingredients of the product, before you purchase it. This is especially important if a product is marked as ‘suitable for all skin types’, instead of ‘oily skin care product’.‘Oily skin care’ also depends on the degree of oiliness, if you are not too oily, some of these ‘suitable for all’- type of products might work for you too. For extremely oily skin, only oily skin care products are will work. Your oily skin care routine can include an alcohol based toner (for an extremely oily skin). This can be the second step in your oily skin care routine i.e. just after cleansing. However, excessive toning can harm your skin.

The next step you should take can be a mild moisturizer. Again, the degree of oiliness of your skin will determine whether you need to include this in your oily skin care routine. If you do include a moisturizer, make sure you use one that is oil-free, wax-free and lipid-free. You could also use a clay mask (once a week is good) as an oily skin care measure.

As far as the oily skin care products go, you might need to try out a few before you find the best for your skin. As I said i recommend the ClearPores Cleansing System. If you like to read more about it follow the link in the resource box of this article.

In case these measures don’t help you reach your goal, consult a dermatologist for advice. He will prescribe stronger oily skin care products like vitamin A creams, retinoids, sulphur creams etc , which can help counter the problems of oily skin.

By Stanimir Sotirov

Proven Home Remedies for Acne

Acne is a skin disorder or rashes which affects the skin's oil glands. But if you could take only one piece of advice from all the information in those articles about how to keep your skin wrinkle-free, do you know which piece of advice it should be?

You might be surprised to learn that of all the millions of words which have been written on caring for your skin, the most important suggestion you can follow is the one which involves no special vitamins, skin creams, or surgical procedures. It does, however, involve a substance which is almost universally available and costs very little. You have it right now in at least two of the rooms in your home.

1. That’s right, plain water is the most important ingredient in your skin care regimen!

Water flushes the toxins from system, and hydrates your skin so that it remains smooth and free of noticeable wrinkles. Adequate water consumption is the foundation of healthy skin, but there are a few other tips you can follow to maximize its benefits.

2. Make sure you are getting an adequate amount of Vitamin C in your daily diet.

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants known, and is best consumed in whole foods rather than in dietary supplements. A single orange a day will do the trick, and research has found that those who consumed their Vitamin C in whole foods developed far fewer wrinkles than those who got it in supplement form.

3. Complement your Vitamin C consumption with linoleic and Omega 6 fatty acids, which will combat wrinkles, dryness and thinning, aging skin.

You can get plenty of both by using safflower, sesame, or sunflower oils, or snacking on nuts. Eggs are also a good source of these fatty acids. So as you can see, the omega 3's from salmon and other oily fish is good for our heart, and it's related oil, the omega 6 seems to be good for our skin.

But take these in moderation as too much oil can put on weight.

4. Finally, avoid refined carbohydrates like sugar and white flour as much as you can.

Eating them regularly is an invitation to wrinkles, because sugar causes glycation, which damages the structure of the collagen fibers which give the skin firmness and elasticity. Without healthy collagen you are certain to have the sagging skin and wrinkles which proclaim old age.

High GI carbohydrates also cause more oxidative damage than low GI carbohydrates. What are low GI foods? They are multigrain breads instead of white bread, Basmati rice, most vegetables (except white potatoes), fish and lean meats. So there you have it.

You probably already know that your skin and your entire body will benefit from a diet rich in antioxidants and other nutrients, but you may not have known how important they are in keeping your skin from aging.

So why not head for the kitchen and pour yourself a nice tall glass of water? If you are concerned about chemicals in your water supply, a water filter is as near as your home improvement store!

Just get in the water habit, and watch as your newly hydrated skin becomes softer and more supple. You’ll know that you are doing the single most important thing you can to keep those wrinkles far away!

Want to look younger than your age? Then get the antiaging wrinkle cream that works, at Marcus Ryan's site which reviews the best anti wrinkle cream serums which reverses wrinkles in minutes. Hard to believe? Then get these top rated creams and literally see the results for yourself!

Before You Choose an Acne Remedy

Making a decision about which acne remedy to use requires making some informed decisions based on the level of acne that requires treating. Here are some tips on how to choose acne remedies that are likely to make an impact on your condition.

First, see your doctor. Understanding the nature of your condition is essential to going with acne remedies that are appropriate for your situation. A qualified physician can determine if there are extenuating factors that are creating the condition, and point you in the direction of over the counter medications, prescription acne remedies, or home acne remedies that are likely to improve the situation. It is always easier to treat a condition when you understand the nature and causes specific to the situation. Starting with that knowledge in hand will make a big difference.

Next, look closely at your hygiene habits. Something as simple as changing your soap or face cleansing agent may result in a reduction in the presence of acne. Also pay attention to how often you clean the affected areas of your body. Try increasing how often you wash the areas. This is a simple but often very important acne remedy that can yield big results.

Third, assess your diet. Are you getting proper nutrition that enables your body to keep the skin healthy? Limit or eliminate foods that may be instrumental in the promotion of acne. While this seems like a simple thing, the fact is many people pay little attention to diet as a cause for acne.

A simple change in diet may be all you need to effectively control the acne. Common sense acne home remedies such as hygiene can often work where costly creams fail.

Last, check out some over the counter acne remedies to try. Mild cases of acne often respond very well to these sorts of acne remedies, with the result being clear skin in a matter of days. Relatively inexpensive, these drug store acne remedies may be all that you need. For severe cases, your doctor will proscribe acne remedies that require a prescription.

Follow the instructions to the letter, as well as any other advice your doctor gives you. Doing so will not only help to bring the acne under control, but also prevent permanent damage to the skin that you would have to live with all your life.

About Author:
Aurelius Tjin is The Publisher of The #1 Acne Remedies Site at http://www.youracneremedies.com/ Where You Can Discover More Acne Tips. Collagen constitutes 75 percent of our skin and is also responsible for a smooth, young, and healthy appearance to our skin, and thereby responsible for improving skin texture. Collagen formation in the body decreases with the aging process. Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) can regulate collagen production by stimulating type (I) procollagen synthesis in human skin.

Ascorbic acid is an important and common ingredient for many skin rejuvenation and anti-wrinkle products. Besides skin care, Vitamin C is effective in treating many skin related disorders. It is helpful in providing photo-protection, treating photo-damaged skin, and pigmentation disorders in the skin. The antioxidant nature of Ascorbic acid enables it to reduce the harm caused to skin due to its exposure to sunlight. Vitamin C provides skin care by reducing the damage to skin caused by free radicals, which are highly reactive oxygen molecules present in the atmosphere and produced by the interaction of sunlight with cell membranes and skin tissues. Vitamin C neutralizes the effect of free radicals in the skin.

Vitamin C does not absorb light and cannot be used as a replacement to sunscreen to aid skin care; rather Vitamin C should be considered a good companion to sunscreen products. Vitamin C holds first place among all skin care methods. Vitamin C skin care can be achieved by using Vitamin C lotions or Vitamin C creams.

Sources of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

The human body does not produce Vitamin C and it needs to be taken in our diet or as dietary supplements. Vitamin C can be taken from plants and animal sources, such as most fruits and vegetables but particularly broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, emblica officinalis (amla), green and red peppers, and potatoes (with skin). Fruits that are rich in vitamin C include guava, papaya, orange, and mango. Animal sources include calf liver, beef liver, pork, and cow milk. Ascorbic acid can also be taken through synthetic sources, in the form of drinks, capsules, and tablets and can be applied to skin in the form of lotions and creams.

Vitamin C is highly soluble in water and can be easily lost as a result of cooking because often the water is discarded before eating. Ascorbic acid is also destroyed when foods are exposed to oxygen, light, and heat. Oxidation in foods takes place when the foods are exposed to air. Vitamin C rich food must be stored in a dark and cool place, in a non-metal container.

Vitamin C can be taken in dietary as well as in topical forms for skin care. Vitamin C in the form of L-ascorbic acid is useful to both the skin and the whole body. L-ascorbic acid breaks down rapidly and is therefore difficult to produce for topical application and to produce skin care products. However once absorbed by the skin, L-ascorbic acid stays in the skin for up to 72 hours, and prevents UV immunosuppression, which causes skin cancer. Until quite recently Collagen as a beauty treatment has not been widely used for household cosmetic makeup.

What is collagen?

It is probably more popularly known in the beauty industry as being used in cosmetic surgery, like lip enhancement.

Collagen is also one of the most abundant proteins found in mammals. Approximately one quarter of all of the protein in your body is collagen. Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue. It has great tensile strength, and is the main component of ligaments and tendons. It is responsible for skin elasticity, and its degradation leads to wrinkles that accompany aging. Collagen also fills out the cornea where it is present in crystalline form.

Without getting too technical about its chemical make up it is a basically a triple helix compound with 1050 amino acids in it. Superimposition of these triple helix compounds produces fibrils of collagen that can be stabilized. By doing this it renders the collagen insoluble, buy using hydrolysis the collagen can be brought into a soluble form resulting in Collagen Hydrolysates. Collagen hydrolysates as a natural biological cosmetic ingredient are isolated and purified using mild extraction or gentle enzymatic degradation. They are dermatological compatible and free of all contaminants.

Why is Collagen Good for the skin?

High-molecular collagen is an important moisture retainer and is suitable for all skin types. It has been proven that collagen increases hydration, improves skin feeling and decreases the extent and depth of wrinkles.

Protein hydrolysates or wheat protein hydrolysate due to their film-forming properties, provide additional positive effects by contributing to skin smoothness and softness. They also have a remarkably high capacity for free radical capture.

With the busy lifestyles most of us lead now days, everything has to be done quicker. Doing thing quicker often involves cutting corners. This might be reflective in our diets, fitness, sleep, etc. Ultimately any one of the previous will have an effect on the skins body and health. By using a Collagen skin care product you can be getting the optimum nutrition to support the skin and body's health.

The Benefits of Collagen:

Collagen is a protein that acts as a key structural component of connective tissue in skin, hair, nails and joints.

The inner layer of the skin contains large amounts of collagen which breaks down at a rate of 1.5% every year after the age of 25. The skin's surface becomes dull and lifeless and the elasticity reduces over time causing certain parts to sag and wrinkle.

Collagen has been proven to be beneficial for the improvement of the elasticity of the skin aiding repair and regeneration of ligaments, tendons, joints and bones and improving the connective tissue of the skin.

In the Harvard Medical School arthritis research on collagen, up to 89.9% of those tested reported a greater ease of movement.

The way your skin looks is directly related to the way your skin is supported. Wrinkles form when the natural collagen and hyaluronic acid in your skin diminish during the natural aging process.

Collagen provides structure and volume to your skin.

Collagen allows protein to be bio-available and water soluble - meaning it can be absorbed readily.

Collagen stabilizes the body's immune system and helps neutralize production of abnormal molecular structures which is also known to be a major cause of joint problems and stiffness and provides the raw materials for cartilage.

Collagen to works at its optimum level during alpha sleep mode when the body's regeneration and rejuvenation mechanism is at its best. Therefore it is best to take supplements 1 hour after eating and just before sleeping.

Drinking 1 1/2 liters of water daily helps disperse nutrients into the body and aid the detoxifying and regeneration process.

Collagen Skin Care products can give the face a dramatic boost, by simply replenishing what the skin is naturally loosing. This treatment will result in a natural younger looking face, and delay the need for Cosmetic Surgery. By combining a Collagen skin care routine with the application of natural ESCA makeup a much younger cleaner face can emerge.

By Sarah Barton

Disclaimer

The information contained in this blog is strictly for educational purposes, you should always consult a doctor about anything medical related.
